Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
Mr. Bates combines over 20 years of experience in the technology sector. Since 2008, Mr. Bates has served as President and CEO of WindStream Technologies, Inc., an alternative energy company focused on developing renewable energy products for urban and rural settings. Prior to joining WindStream, Mr. Bates was President of Avant Interactive, an Internet video company providing interactive video technology to television networks, advertising agencies and video publishers, from 2001 to 2006.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Campbell has over 15 years of work experience in the private and public sectors, and extensive executive management experience in municipal government, international operations, business development, and finance. Mr. Campbell began his professional career as Executive Director of the Jennings County Economic Development Commission where he developed and provided financial incentive packages to international companies as an effort to promote job growth, trade, and capital investment in the local community. His work in Economic Development served as the foundation for his growth into business development and international operations. While working for private companies such as Toyota Automatic Loom Works, LTD. and Ota Heavy Industries, LTD., he led operational teams and established global counterweight production in China, Japan, North America, and Europe. During his tenure at TAL/OTA, he was tasked with managing the U.S. sales market and generated the majority of the company’s revenue. In 2005, Mr. Campbell explored his interest as an entrepreneur and built a $30 million brokerage and logistics company. Mr. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Economics from Butler University.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Thorpe is a financial executive with broad experience at both corporate and operating levels including all aspects of financial reporting, acquisitions and divestitures, all forms of financing and all types of accounting processes and internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley. A licensed CPA in California, Bill started in public accounting with KPMG in Los Angeles and San Francisco and then worked at a number of venture capital backed, family owned, private and public companies including Visa International, Central Garden and Pet and most recently as a consulting CFO with CFO Edge.
Daniel C. Harris
Executive Vice President, Global Sales
Daniel Harris has over 10 years of experience in the competitive retail energy space, most notably serving as Executive Vice President of Sales at Glacial Energy, a nationwide provider of retail electricity and natural gas for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. Prior to working in the energy field, he held numerous high level positions in General Management and Sales with leading edge telecommunications service providers. Mr. Harris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Telecommunications Management and Marketing from Syracuse University.
Sr. Vice President of Sales – Latin America
Mr. Chami has 25 years of experience in developing and running capital intense businesses worldwide. As a former executive director of IBM Argentina Mr. Chami has important governmental and CEO level contacts throughout Europe, and Latin America. In 1991 he moved from Buenos Aires to Paris to create Microleader, the European business unit of Dinorall, a US computer company, based in Miami, with an annual turn-over of 200 million dollars, and grew Microleader to 50 million dollars of annual revenue. After selling Microleader he co-founded an eLogistics start-up, “Equod”, which developed “Interactive Tracking”, an award winning software application focused on the transportation sector. In 2004 Mr. Chami moved to the United States and has served as a business development consultant to WindStream since 2009.
Senior Business Advisor
Anthony Mazza is a New York-licensed attorney primarily engaged in Operations and Risk Management Consulting for Financial Services and IT companies. He is a principal of Global Access Advisors, through which he has served in senior level capacities and specializes in compete corporate due diligence, resolving regulatory compliance issues and performs risk analysis related to credit, cyber and litigation issues. Mazza typically engages directly with clients, and serves in various interim capacities at the Senior Operations and Board level. He holds a Juris Doctorate, a Masters of Science in Cyber Security, and is a current MBA candidate; he is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Mazza is a former US Army Reserve Officer and is a member of the New York State, Federal District Court and US Supreme Court Bars. He also sits on the Boards of two domestic firms and one international company; and is a special advisor to an Australian technology company, an Indian HR enterprise and two US Litigation Support syndicates. Mazza is also an Adjunct Professor teaching several undergraduate business law disciplines, and graduate level classes in Cyber Law & Policy and Cyber Risk Management.
Richard Wirz, PhD
Dr. Richard E. Wirz is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at UCLA, and holds a joint appointment at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). He has over 15 years of experience in renewable energy technologies and systems. He is Director of the UCLA Energy Innovation Laboratory, which investigates renewable energy applications such as the use of supercritical fluids for solar thermal energy storage and the advanced blade designs for large scale wind turbines. He is also Director of the UCLA Plasma & Space Propulsion Laboratory, where their research is primarily focused on the understanding the unique partially-ionized plasma conditions common to space electric propulsion, as well as the development of miniature thrusters and devices. In these areas, he has authored over 80 publications, two NASA Tech Briefs, and several patents and patents pending. Dr. Wirz received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and a B.S. in Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aeronautics and Applied Sciences from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
