WindStream CEO on COP16 Panel
WindStream Technologies, Inc. CEO, Dan Bates, is to participate on the clean energy panel at the 16th Conference of Parties climate talks in Cancun, Mexico.
CANCUN, MEXICO - WindStream Technologies Inc., maker of highly efficient and low-cost micro-wind turbines for urban and off-grid environments, takes part in the UNFCCC-hosted international dialogue on unfolding climate policy. The panel, "Building smart cities: the development and integration of smart low-carbon infrastructure," will discuss areas of opportunities and development and emission reduction challenges facing economies worldwide.
The panel, made up of business leaders, will also discuss the potential for a zero-waste, carbon-neutral infrastructure, focused on the integration of smart grid technology, renewable energy, sustainable transport and energy efficient buildings.
"We must move toward a more distributed energy generation model, coupled with efficiency, in order to reduce emissions while still spurring further economic growth in developed and developing economies, alike," said Dan Bates, WindStream Technologies CEO. COP16/CMP6 is the 16th edition of Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP) and the 6th Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP).
